SuperSoakers in Space + more books
Hey, remember those Super Soaker water guns you played with when you were a kid? On a hot summer day, there was no better way to play tag.
Bet you never thought they’d end up in a spaceship though.
Okay, maybe it’s not an actual Super Soaker, but come on, it sure looks like one. And it’s most definitely a water gun. Meet the Mini Potable Water Dispenser, designed for astronauts to use while living on Gateway, the space station that will someday orbit the Moon.
What’s its purpose? This is how food will be rehydrated and water bottles refilled. You can read more about it on NASA’s site here.
So, the kids are in school, the weather’s getting nice again, and it’s the perfect time to dive into a new book, right?
Well, right now, there is a specially curated list of books from thirty-five different authors, just waiting for you to peruse.
If you’re in the market for a brand-new series…
How does “Saving Private Ryan” on a far-future battlefield sound? This new release from Scott Moon has mechs, political betrayal, aliens, secret portal technology, and a hidden AI cabal. Salvager is a novella in his new Tall Boys series, and it’s available here.
When galactic forces go to war, someone has to clean up afterward, even if there are still shots being fired.
Kold has never known anything but life in his hometown, ruined by centuries of war. When a pilot from the galactic empire crash lands in his zone, saving her life comes at a personal cost. His closest companion is a construction robot with too much artificial intelligence to go unnoticed.
Now, he must earn the pilot’s trust in the hope that she won’t turn him and his robot into the space fleet authorities.
When he thinks everything is going wrong, it all gets so much worse.
Fans of military science fiction, mechanized warfare, and post-apocalyptic settings will love Salvager. Check out this introduction to the Tall Boys universe today.

What am I up to this week?
On the book writing front, I’m a few chapters into Battlefield Diplomacy 3: Insurrection, and I think you’ll like this conclusion to Matt’s adventures. Still waiting on the publisher for an actual release date. As soon as I have it, I’ll share it with you.
And as always, thanks for stopping by the Speakeasy and hanging with me.
Fair skies & tailwinds,
L.L. Richman
